changing. lives.

Not for the faint of heart, the youth ministry major is designed for those who want to engage in the adventure of changing the world by ministering to families and young lives while empowering the next generation of leaders. The youth ministry major focuses on making disciples of youth and families in both the Church and faith-based nonprofit organizations in order to interpret and engage culture in a redemptive manner. This process involves equipping ministry leaders to serve the Church and faith-based nonprofit organizations as vocational leaders, interpreting such service as a “calling.” Theological, academic and practical engagement will shape kingdom transformation-minded leaders who envision real change personally and professionally by participating in Jesus’ Great Commission to “make disciples” (Matthew 28:16-20). The youth ministry major offers both theory and practical application of ministry to youth through courses centering on theology of youth ministry, familial relationships, communicating to youth, youth culture and issues, youth evangelism and discipleship, counseling adolescents, and leadership formation. Finally, an internship with first-hand experience under a professional mentor caps off the student’s experience.

The Youth Ministries major is also available online.
