The following are basic job descriptions for student worker employment.
Media and Information Commons
Involves working with people, checking media commons items in and out, learning and explaining new technologies and software to patrons, supervising the Media & Information Commons on weekends and evenings. Workers need to have an aptitude for learning new technologies and need excellent communication skills.
Involves working with people, assisting in finding reference materials, shelving books, maintaining a quiet, friendly atmosphere upstairs in the library, maintaining the computer lab, etc. Workers need to possess strong communication skills.
Involves working with people, checking books in and out, assisting with instructing patroons, shelving books, and supervising the area during evenings and weekends. Workers need to take initiative and are responsible for additional responsibilities based on their individual abilities.
Involves maintenance and repair of smart classrooms and assisting the Media Services Coordinator with special projects. Workers must have an aptitude for learning new classroom technology and a technical background is preferred.
Involves adding spine labels to new books, filing, covering paperback books, repairing books and etc.
