Public School Mentoring	Glenda Bullard Glenda.bullard@stephens. K12.ga.us 706-886-2880 ext 2003	The goal of mentoring is to be a consistent support and guidance to the student and to coach the child in the game of life. Tutoring is not a requirement. Developing a positive relationship with the student and helping them overcome issues they encounter is what the mentoring relationship is all about.	Volunteering 1 hour, 1 day a week for the remainder of a school year to a particular child is what is required. The time and day of service depends on the school and can be very flexible- especially in the elementary schools. Must have your own transportation and be able to visit during school hours.
Mountain Education Charter HS	Carolyn Mann cmann@mymec.org	Mountain Education Charter High School is an accredited evening High School that offers students the opportunity to earn a regular high school diploma. Looking for volunteers as academic tutors for individual students.	Must have the ability to work with teenagers. Especially needing volunteers skilled in English and Math.
Stephens Co. YMCA	Phoenix Carroll pcarrollymca@windstream.net 706-886-9622 706-716-0522	Volunteers serve in various capacities: After school program out of local elementary schools assisting with homework, devotions, crafts, games. Gym watch- caring for children while parents are working out. Spring and Fall soccer program- coaching.	After school program runs Mon-Fri 3:30-5:30. Child watch is Mon/Wed 4:30-7:30. Soccer is March-April, Tuesday night practice at 5:30 and Saturday 9:30 games. Must be able to work with elementary school age for after school program. Must have basic soccer skills for soccer program. Major in education, youth min., or counseling preferred.
Boys and Girls Club	Cindy Arnold Cindyarnold2010@att.net 706-886-3771	After school program for Stephens county. Volunteers assist in tutoring, classroom management, snack time and games.
Soccer Coaching	Chris Vena cvena@tfc.edu	Volunteers needed to coach youth league soccer in Stephens and Habersham counties.	Must have basic knowledge of soccer and be responsible to manage the team.
Special Olympics	Joy Pollock patriciajoypollock@yahoo.com 706-244-8048	Volunteers will be coaching Special Olympic Athletes in the Stephens County schools in various sports to help train for competitions.	Must be available during school hours. Times can be flexible depending on volunteer’s schedule. Will be working with students with various special needs.
