Student affairs News and Events

Below is a list of news items and upcoming events. 

 

The Student Affairs department has organized a supply drive for emergency responders and others involved in the firefighting efforts in North Georgia/Tennessee/North Carolina. TFC invites the Stephens County and other local communities to join us in this endeavor. There are many firefighters and emergency personnel who will be away from their families this Thanksgiving. 

NEEDED ITEMS

  • Eye drops
  • Lip balm
  • Ibuprophen & Advil (big need)      
  • OTC allergy medication
  • Shaving supplies (razors & shaving cream)
  • Beef jerky
  • Crackers
  • Nuts & Trail mix
  • Prepackaged, non-perishable snacks, etc.
  • Bottled water, Gatorade, Powerade

DROP LOCATION
Boxes will be located in the Student Center starting Thursday, November 17th and will be delivered to the Georgia Forestry Commission in Clarkesville, GA on a continual basis.  All donated items are for the benefit of firefighters and other emergency responders. 

DURATION
Items will be collected until end of day Tuesday, November 22nd.  Efforts may extend further after Thanksgiving if the wildfires continue and the need still exists. Questions or comments can be directed to Student Affairs located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center or at studentaffairs@tfc.edu.  Thanks to everyone for getting involved and helping others this Thanksgiving season!
