What type of students do you hire? We are looking for mature, responsible individuals who are looking for a great place to work.  Most of our students continue to work in the library until they graduate. What jobs are available in the library? The library hires student workers for the following areas. Circulation Desk - Duties involve working with people, checking books in and out, shelving books, keeping statistics, maintaining a quiet, friendly atmosphere in the library, calculating and collecting fine money, etc. Acquisitions Department - Duties involve processing book requests, searching the online catalog, some data entry, checking in periodicals, keeping statistics, processing gift books, maintaining book-sale shelf, etc.
Technical Services Department - Duties involve adding spine labels to new books, covering paperback books, repairing books, etc. Media Center Desk - Duties involve assisting students and faculty, keeping statistics, collecting and changing money, assisting with media equipment, maintaining a friendly atmosphere in the library, etc. What if I don’t have any library experience? All student workers receive on-the-job training. In fact, we will help prepare you to become a better student through helping others learn basic research skills. What if I need summer employment? The library is open year round and students can work up to 40 hours during the summer. How do I apply?
