A few weeks ago I sat down with a new graduate of Toccoa Falls College—Krista Taylor. Krista has been a part of the TFC family for the past four and a half years. She graduated last December with a degree in Cross Cultural Studies. During her time here, she served as a missionary to India, an ambassador for the college with a drama/music group, and worked in the Advancement office where she did EVERYTHING—at least according her. In just the past eight months that I have known her, she has been a blessing to our office in her dedication and service.
At present, she is not completely sure where God is leading her, but, since she began a new job right here on the TFC campus, she told me she has already seen how she can use her training. She works in the online department as the Distance Education Recruitment Specialist. Krista is talking with students and potential students all over the world as they investigate TFC for online classes. Her knowledge of other cultures and how they mesh with each other will allow her to have a positive impact for Christ as she continues to assist the college. That would be your Annual Scholarship Fund dollars at work!
During her time at TFC, she received approximately $10,000 in financial aid from TFC. That comes out to just about two thirds of a year in tuition. Your giving made the difference! Krista once said, "I want God to call me some place hard, because it's hard." Did you get your money's worth? I would say so.
As of mid-December, Krista is engaged to be married to another TFC graduate, Luke Fritz. His training is in family and children's ministry. As they begin their lives together in a few months, they are seeking God's direction to a church where they can begin to make a difference in the lives of families.
Just so you know – I am one of you. My wife and I give to the Annual Scholarship Fund. We do it not only because we believe it is what God wants us to do, we do it for the same reason many of you do – it is an investment in the future of the ministry of God's kingdom on this earth. With young people like Krista and Luke moving out into the world taking what they have learned here at Toccoa Falls, I would say that we are definitely getting our money's worth and more!
