Thursday’s speaker is our own Dr. Steve Woodworth, Director of Spiritual Formation for Toccoa Falls College. Dr. Steve is a native of New Hampshire with more than a decade of experience in pastoral ministry, church planting, and education. He is a graduate of Montreat College (B.S.) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MDiv. and DMin.). His doctoral work centered on the issues of pastoral identity and the use of familial metaphors in the modern church.  Read his weekly blog at www.thethursdaycircle.com

Dr. Steve Woodworth is an ordained teaching elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) whose call has stretched from the local church, to the academy, and into the mission field. He was the founder of iSight Church in Black Mountain, NC and a pastor in residence at the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove. Prior to coming to Toccoa Falls College in 2012 he served at Montreat College as a Chaplain and as a professor of Pastoral Ministries teaching in the areas of homiletics, hermeneutics, spiritual formation, and New Testament.

Dr. Woodworth has published in the Journal for Youth Ministry, as well as chapters in The Encyclopedia of Christian Education, A History of Religious Educators and their Theological Hermeneutic, and College Faith, Vol. 3. His weekly blog can be found at TheThursdayCircle.com. He is married to his college sweetheart Carrie, and they have three young boys: Luke, Andrew, and Zachary.

 Friday morning’s chapel speaker is recording artist and TFC alum Aaron Shust.  He grew up in western PA and attended  Toccoa Falls College where he studied music. While there he studied great classical composers like Mozart and Bach, but also became influenced by bands like U2.  He began performing at churches and coffeehouses while at TFC.

After graduating from TFC, Aaron began leading worship and ended up at Perimeter Church in Duluth, GA.  He recorded his first album, Anything Worth Saying in 2004 and Brash Music signed Shust shortly thereafter.  Shust was named the songwriter of the year at the GMA Dove Awards of 2007 and his song “My Savior My God” received the Song of the Year award.

Toccoa Falls College is proud to present Aaron Shust in concert Friday evening, April 4th, 2014 at Grace Chapel & Performing Arts Center.  This show is open to the public but is FREE for all Campus Preview Weekend attendees as a thank you for coming out and spending the weekend with us.
