Head Coach: Lance Martin
Coach Lance Martin has been the Athletic Director at Toccoa Falls College for 15 years. Martin arrived on the campus of TFC in 1981 as a freshman student and completed his education at the school in 1986. While attending the college he was an intricate part of the basketball and baseball teams. In basketball he led the team in assists for four years and still holds the school record for career assists. In baseball Martin played second base for three years for the Eagles.
In fall of 1988 the Martin was invited to join the staff at Toccoa Falls College where began his ministry in the athletic department. It was at this point Lance became the baseball coach for the Eagles and a professor in the Physical Education department of the college.
Coach Martin would hold the baseball position from 1988 to 1996. In 1992 and 1995 the Eagles were Southern District Champions of the NCCAA. He was selected District Coach of the Year both years he won the championships.
As successful as Martin was in baseball, his first love was basketball and in 1993-94 he became assistant basketball coach and in the fall of 1994 was given the head coaching position. It did not take Martin long to bring a district championship to the college in basketball. In his second year, 95-96, the Eagles won the South District Championship and went on to finish 4th in the NCCAA National Tournament. In 1996-97, the team repeated the feat and won again the district banner. Their record for the year was an amazing 29-6 record and finished second in the NCCAA National Tournament. For the third time in a row the Eagles brought home the district banner and finished again in the fourth spot. During his first four years as head coach Martin was named District Coach of the Year and in 1997 he was honored as the Coach of the Year for the NCCAA.
