Morden Receives 2008-2009 Vulcan Materials Teaching Excellence Award
Toccoa Falls, GA - James Morden, Assistant Professor of Music and Trumpet, is the 2008-2009 recipient of the Vulcan Materials Teaching Excellence Award for Toccoa Falls College. Dr. Wayne Gardner, President of Toccoa Falls College, presented the award May 6, 2009, during the college’s annual Awards Chapel.
The award honors a faculty member who has made a distinctive difference both in the classroom and in the campus community. Winners of this award have provided model teaching and campus leadership, as well as pioneering teaching methods and creative course development.
For the past 15 years, Vulcan Materials Company has sponsored, through the Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges (GFIC), the Teaching Excellence Award of $1,000 to deserving faculty members. Vulcan Materials has chosen to continue to provide the Teaching Excellence Award sponsorship at Toccoa Falls College which is a member of the GFIC.
