Scripture for the Day: Ephesians 2
Colossians 2:13-14 gives a hope that inspires my life. It states You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. Like all of the other passage of Scripture that are centered on the death and resurrection of Christ, this one gives strength and inspiration for each day. Knowing that Christ and His power over death now live inside me; that the enmity that stood between me and my God has been removed is comforting and encouraging!
As an Resident Assistant, I interact with guys that struggle with life’s issues on a day-to-day basis. Many of them have gone through spiritual hard times, as well as physical struggles. What compounds the issue is that most guys are honestly pursuing God and are genuinely saddened by any set-backs in their relationship with Him. No matter what, though, the best piece of information that I can give them is the encouragement found in passages such as Colossians 2:13-14–regardless of their circumstance, Christ is the Ultimate Hope that will never fail.

Thank you for cutting away my sinful nature. Thank you for taking the charges that were made against me in your body on the cross. I want to walk in freedom today and not go back to my old pattern of living. Thank you that I can come near to you and ask forgiveness when I fail. I praise you for the hope and victory you give as I walk this life.
In your powerful name, Amen.
