Scripture for the Day: Galatians 6
Each time I prepare to enter into a time of remembering the sacrifice Christ gave for us on the cross, I often have a recurring question enter my mind… why? Why did the Lord of the universe choose to leave His perfect existence to come and live here on earth with His fallen creation? The answer is one that I can use a word to explain, but I cannot fully comprehend. That word is “love”. As humans we can only catch a glimpse of the love God has for us. The depth of feeling that one has for their spouse or even for their child, when compared to God’s love of humanity is like comparing a child’s drawing of a tree to the real thing. 1 John 3:1reminds us of this-Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…
God desires for us to learn to love Him and has given us tools to do so. It is through worship that we can start to understand the depth of His love for us. He has given us ears to hear about Him, a tongue to speak about Him, Scripture to read about Him, a voice to sing about Him, eyes to experience the beauty of Him, a mind to discover more about Him, and a heart to feel Him. We are created in His image to reflect Him and He has chosen His children in which to dwell so we may do so. I challenge us to discover God’s love and allow that love to dictate how we reflect Him.

We want to worship you for the great love you have given us. We sing with the hymn writer-
What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.
To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb,
Who is the great I AM,
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing.
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free
I’ll sing His love for me,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on.
