Scripture for the Day: Romans 11
How many time do we allow our dead life prior to Christ define who we are? How many times do we still see ourselves as sinful, wicked people without any purpose? Colossian 2:13-14 states – You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. Through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection we are given the opportunity for new life. Our old self no longer dictates who we are. In Christ, we are freed from our sin; we no longer have to live in chains, acting as slaves to our flesh. WE ARE MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST! He has given us true, real, and lasting life. He took our mistakes, failures, sins, hindrances, shortcomings when he was nailed to the cross. Through his cross he has opened our eyes to reality. Apart from Him our lives are a haze and meaningless. Because of his resurrection, we can now see the reality of eternal life.
Let’s begin living in the reality of the cross. Let’s be released from the bondage that no longer exists through the freedom of Christ. May we allow Jesus to transform our minds in such a way that we are convinced of the true liberation that is found in Him, leaving behind the false identity that we cling to.

Jesus, help me realize that I can live in your new reality for my life – that I am released from the bondage of sin! Help me walk in my true identity. Amen.
