The Toccoa Falls College men’s soccer team won the Championship of the Association of Christian College Athletics (ACCA) National Tournament on Nov 5 in Joplin, Missouri. TFC was seeded #1 in the tournament, made up of mostly unaffiliated colleges from the Midwest, and received a first-round bye. They beat Barclay College (Kansas) in the semifinal game 5-0 on Nov. 4 and then defeated Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (Oklahoma) 3-0 in the final.

TFC dominated Barclay, controlling possession and allowing them only one shot on goal, which was handled by goalkeeper Elijah Smith. Tyler Timberlake recorded a hat trick and two of his goals came in the first ten minutes of the game. Phil Stice scored the other two goals for the Eagles. Peter Yang assisted on two of Timberlake’s goals and David Brown assisted on the other.

The TFC defense also controlled the championship game against Hillsdale the following day. Smith saved all three of Hillsdale’s shots. TFC’s first goal came in the first half when Eric Bill was fouled in the penalty box and Brown converted the penalty kick. Later, defender Dustin Howell pushed up field on a counter attack and scored off a pass from Stice, who later scored TFC’s final goal off an assist from Brown. Yang, Bill, and Timberlake were named to the all-tournament team, and Timberlake was named tournament MVP.
