Two TFC cross country runners participated in the 11^th Annual Currahee Challenge Run at Mt. Currahee on October 1 in Toccoa. Clessie Kendrick finished first out of 84 women in the six mile race. Her time of 52:43 was 29^th overall, out of 288 runners.  Sam Burnett finished 3^rd overall with a time of 44:20.  TFC was also represented in the race by staff member Joanna Bruce who finished 83^rd overall at 1:02:08 and student Gordon Lamb who finished 100^th overall at 1:05:19.

The race was part of the annual Currahee Military Weekend, co-sponsored by TFC, which honors and remembers World War II paratroopers who were trained at Camp Toccoa at the base of Mt. Currahee.  For the paratroopers the “three miles up, three miles down” run was part of their regular training, as depicted in the well-known book and HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.
