Dr. Chris Vena Named Chair of Bible & Theology Department

Dr. Christopher (Chris) Vena has been named chair of the Bible and Theology Department at Toccoa Falls College. He received his B.A. in English with minors in Philosophy and History from TFC, his M.A. in Christian Thought from Bethel Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. in Theology and Society from Marquette University.

Dr. Vena formerly served as the pastor of Youth and Christian Education at Princeton Alliance Church and is teaching or has taught courses at Bethel Theological Seminary, Bethel University, Liberty University Online, and Marquette University. He has been published in Philosophia Christi and is the assistant editor for the forthcoming Prophetic Witness by Fr. Thomas Hughson.

He returned to TFC in 2007 as the resident director of Forrest Dorm and also served as assistant men’s soccer coach and adjunct instructor of Theology. In December 2009, he became a full-time faculty in the Bible and Theology Department as assistant professor of Theology and Philosophy. He continues to serve outside of the academic area as an elder for TFC’s Campus Community Church. Dr. Vena and his wife Christy, an alumna of TFC, currently live in Toccoa with their four daughters: Cadie, Jordan, Maggie, and Emarie.
