The Lady Eagles hosted the Warren Wilson College Lady Fighting Owls on Tuesday night. TFC entered the non-conference game with a 2-4 record. Most recently, TFC fell to Pensacola Christian College 60-31 before the Thanksgiving break. The Lady Fighting Owls traveled to Toccoa owners of a 4-3 record with a recent victory over Welch College, 72-66. The Lady Eagles jumped to a quick first half lead but fell to Warren Wilson in the end, 57-48.
TFC propelled itself to a 27-22 halftime lead as the Lady Eagles shot 40% from the floor in the opening period. Conversely, WWC shot 9-31 from the floor in the first half.
In the second half, WWC erased TFC’s lead and improved its shooting to 40% from the floor. While the visitors found their stroke, TFC was unable to keep its hot shooting hand and slumped to just 26% shooting in the second half.
Jeanelle Arnold and Rachel Morris led TFC with 9 points apiece. Kim Crapse contributed 8 points and 9 rebounds, and Beth Brown and Cassidy Lang each added 7 points. Brown led TFC with 10 rebounds. For Warren Wilson, Dani Henderson scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 8 boards. Lilvia Bradbury recorded a statistic double-double as she dropped 12 points and snagged 11 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles will host Bob Jones University on Friday at 5:00 PM and Trinity Baptist College on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Both games will be followed by the TFC men hosting BJU and TBC on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
