The TFC Lady Eagles welcomed Pensacola Christian College to campus for a Friday night region match up. TFC entered the game with a record of 2-3, whereas PCC had notched a 4-2 mark prior to the game. The Lady Eagles struggled shooting in Friday’s game and were defeated 60-31.
After Pensacola opened the game with a 15-4 scoring run, TFC clamped down defensively and clawed its way back into the game, highlighted by a 13-2 run. TFC guard Rachel Morris scored 5 consecutive points to cut PCC’s lead to 23-17 with two minutes to play in the first half. However, PCC would enter the intermission with a 26-17 advantage.
TFC struggled to convert chances in the opening minutes after the restart while Pensacola found its shooting stroke. After shooting just 29% in the first half, PCC upped its shooting percentage in the second to 45%, including 36% from from behind the arc. TFC was unable to stay within single digits as Pensacola’s offensive execution was too sharp for the Lady Eagles.
Kim Crapse led the Lady Eagles with 9 rebounds, and Jeanelle Arnold added 8 boards and 6 points. Rachel Morris led TFC with 10 points in the loss. Holly Zorca and Ashley Goins each dropped 11 points for the visiting Lady Eagles. Hanna Shipp scored 9 and grabbed 9 boards in her own right.
TFC will not play again until after the Thanksgiving break when they host Warren Wilson College on December 3. Tip is set for 5:00 and will precede the men’s game with Warren Wilson.
