The TFC volleyball team participated in a tri-match on September 14 in which they squared off with hosts Wesleyan College and Coastal Georgia University. The Lady Eagles dropped both matches on the day and tallied one set win in the two losses.
The Lady Eagles fell to Wesleyan College (1-7) in the opening match of the tri-match, 1 – 3. TFC won the first game 26-24 but fell in four total games, 9-25, 19-25, 20-25. In the match, outside hitter Kim Crapse led the attack with 11 kills while setter Hadley Harris and Sarah Schaeffer each recorded 10 assists. Defensively, Rachel Morris totaled 18 digs from her libero position. Nikki Eitutis had 10 digs, and Courtney Bechtold added 8.
Coastal Georgia University (9-5) defeated TFC in three sets in the final match for the Lady Eagles. From the onset, the powerful NAIA side established their dominance and buried points at each opportunity. CGU topped the Lady Eagles 9-25, 13-25, and 6-25. Rachel Morris again led the team in digs and tallied 8 digs in the match. Hadley Harris assisted on each of the Lady Eagles five kills.
TFC (2-8) will next host region foe Trinity Baptist College on September 20 at 5:30 PM. The Lady Eagles of TFC defeated the Lady Eagles of Trinity in three sets earlier this season.
