The TFC women’s soccer team hosted Bob Jones University on Thursday night. The Eagles entered the the game a 1 – 2 record and a plan to defend the talented Bruins from BJU but were narrowly defeated 1 – 0.

TFC played an organized, compact defense while attempting to spring leading scorer Lizz Rice in the counter attack. Coach Warren’s plan worked perfectly through the first 60′ of the game. The Eagles frustrated and congested BJU’s attack while Rice had several moments of pressure on the opposing goal. With less than 20′ remaining in the game, BJU’s Rebecca Luttrell broke the deadlock with the game winning goal.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to a 1-3 mark on the young season while BJU improved to 2-2-1. TFC will travel to LaGrange College on Saturday for a 6:00 PM kickoff. The following week, the Eagles will host Huntingdon College and Trinity Baptist College on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. Both home matches will begin at 5:00 PM and will be streamed live.
