TFC men’s basketball team hosted region opponent Trinity College of Florida on Friday, February 8. The Eagles outplayed Trinity in all facets of the game and won 98 – 67.
The Eagles jumped to an early lead over Trinity by creating turnovers and out shooting Trinity 35% – 11% from three point range in the first half. At the half, the Eagles had built a commanding 48 – 35 lead. TFC shot 20 – 36 (55%) from the field in the second half to put the game out of reach for the visiting Tigers.
TFC’s Josh Johnson led the Eagles with a career high 22 points. Josh Barrett had 17 points and 9 assists, and Derek Westfall and Freddie Harrell each added 14 points for the Eagles. Michael Coffey scored 31 points for Trinity in the loss.
TFC will travel to Piedmont International University and Warren Wilson College on February 11 and 12, respectively. The Eagles return home to host North Greenville University on February 14 at 7:00. The final home game of the year will be on February 16 at 4:00 as TFC hosts Johnson and Wales University.
