The Lady Eagles hosted conference opponent Clearwater Christian College on Saturday. The Lady Eagles held a ten point lead throughout much of the first half, but were defeated 58 – 67.
TFC used accurate three point shooting to jump to ten point leads of 19 – 9 and 23 – 13. With a 10 point deficit and 10 minutes remaining in the half, the Lady Cougars of Clearwater fought back and would eventually take a 39 – 35 lead going into the half. In the opening period, the Lady Eagles shot 6 – 11 from three. After halftime, a lap up by TFC’s Kim Crapse tied the game at 43 – 43, but the Lady Eagles were unable to continue their hot shooting in the second half. After shooting 45% in the opening half, the Lady Eagles shot just 2 – 6 from three and just 33% from the field. Clearwater’s Tiffany Pack hit back to back three’s with 7 minutes left in the game to give the Lady Cougars all they needed to hang on to the 67 – 58 win.
TFC’s Kim Crapse led in scoring with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Clearwater’s Tiffany Pack and Rebecca Misiura also had 17 points a piece. TFC’s Cassidy Lang finished with 14 points on 4 – 9 three point shooting, and Maddy Moody added 12 points and 7 boards in the loss.
The Lady Eagles will host Johnson University on February 9 at 2:00.
