Playing their third game in three days, the Eagles faced Sewanee University in the last game of the Lon Varnell Classic on December 8.

Sewanee capitalized on the Eagles fatigue and took a 28-16 halftime lead. Despite the deficit, the Eagles were encouraged by the defensive effort and momentum they created in the second half against Oglethorpe. Tired legs gave way in the second half, and the Eagles dropped their third game of the week, 56-78. The Eagles were again led in scoring by Westfall’s 20 points. Josh Johnson and Hamlett scored 10 points, respectively.

Eagles Coach Jason Mehl said, “We need to put together 40 minutes of quality defense and purposeful offense. We haven’t played a complete game yet this year.”

The Eagles will travel to Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Thursday, December 13 for their last game of the semester.
