On September 4, Origin written by TFC alum Jessica Khoury (Beeman) will go on sale at 12:01 a.m. at Ash-ling’s bookstore in Toccoa. The book is an exciting, fast-paced, and thought provoking YA novel that is sure to captivate your attention. At the heart of the story is the lead character Pia, who has grown up in a secret compound hidden deep in the Amazon rainforest. She was genetically engineered to be perfect and to live forever. When she slips away from her protected enclosure, she discovers not only love but also a very deadly truth.
Khoury graduated from TFC in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in English. During orientation week, she told TFC freshmen that she knew that she always wanted to be a writer. Even as a very young girl, she was writing stories and thinking about the day that she would complete her first novel. Jessica lives in Toccoa with her husband Ben (also a TFC grad).
Debbie Moore, director of residence/community life said, “The Student Development Department would like to support Jessica Khoury in the release of her book, Origin by extending curfew to those attending. Students attending the release just need to let their resident director know of their intent.”
Let’s support Jessica on Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. (just after midnight) at Ash-ling’s bookstore in downtown Toccoa! Origin is her first published novel. You can learn more about her online at www.jessicakhoury.com.
