Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for processing federal, state, and institutional financial aid for a selected portion of the student population, based on student last name. This position requires an individual who can work independently in determining student eligibility for financial aid and authorizing financial aid file completion. This position also requires an individual who can work as part of a team in coordinating financial aid processes and procedures with the other offices in the Enrollment Management Division. The Counselor is a professional representative of the college who is expected to operate in a manner that is consistent with the college’s desire to promote a positive image, Christian character, and to provide quality student service.
A Bachelor’s degree with evidence of further professional development is preferred. Experience in student financial aid is also preferred. The candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills as well as a strong work ethic, integrity, and a positive attitude. The candidate must exhibit professional and personal conduct that is spiritually and morally constructive. The candidate must also be supportive of the mission and vision of the college including signed agreement with the college statement of faith.
Founded in 1907, Toccoa Falls College is a private, interdenominational, coeducational, four-year institution. The campus is located on 1,000 acres in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The college enrolls approximately 925 students.
