This has been one of the craziest weeks since school started back in the fall.  It’s election week for the Student Government Association Executive Council, and both candidates that are running have been putting up hard fights.  I’m up for different positions on each council so I’ve been getting the insider’s scoop on each campaign.  But of course, with that comes the responsibility of choosing to campaign for both or neither—I chose both.  I haven’t been able to voice my opinion of each council until today, and now that it’s over, I feel like I can finally relax and breathe.  Because each council has been trying to win over the student body, we’ve had social functions almost every night this week; examples of which were ice cream socials and campaign parties.  It was nice to have fun events to be at. I think they helped salvage some of my sanity!

As you know, Easter was last weekend and, like a lot of other people on campus, I went home.  One of my friends from school and some of my family from Alabama came to my house for the weekend as well.  My mom made a fantastic Easter dinner and, after we ate, we had an Easter egg hunt.  Childish, yes, but so much fun… especially because Mom and my Aunt Jenifer put change in the eggs (in college terms: laundry money).

To wrap this up, I also wanted to mention that I have my summer plans nailed out finally.  It turns out, there is something better than my Alaska plan.  A friend of mine helped me get a job at a ranch in Wyoming for the summer.  I’ll be doing housekeeping and maybe some kitchen work and apparently on my off-times, I’ll get to go horseback riding and fishing.  I really can’t wait to see how everything will go, but I know it’s bound to be one of the best summers of my life.

And now, I’m going to go take a nap and try to recuperate from this week.

 Until next week,

Molly
