Hey there!  Sorry for my long pause.  My first journal for this semester would have been posted a couple of weeks ago, but I came down with the flu which kept me in bed at home for a week, which of course would be no fun to write about.

But now I’m back and I’ll try to recall most of everything that has been going on here since the semester ended in December.

Christmas was amazing.  My family and I went to Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas to see our family like we usually do.  At first, I wasn’t excited about going, but once we got there, I had a really great time with my sister and my cousins.

We freshman had to be back to school on January 2nd because our Winterim class Western Thought and Culture began on the 3rd.  I heard a lot of different opinions about the class during the two weeks, but I actually liked it.  The purpose was to help us gain a Christian worldview, especially of historical events.  I really learned a lot from it.

The spring semester began on January 19th.  I’m taking 15 credit hours, so unlike last semester (when I took 8 classes), I only have 5 this semester.  So far, I’m really enjoying my classes.  My favorite is Cultural Anthropology with Dr. Penland.  It’s at 8 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but the subject is so interesting that it’s hard not to pay attention.

On February 1st, we had a snow day.  I think we had about 4 inches and it all stuck, which is really good for a Georgia snow.  My friends and I all got up and went out to play in it at 6:00 in the morning since school was cancelled for the day.  We had such a good time sledding, making snow angels, and having snowball fights.  I heard later that most of the students from up north stayed in bed because it wasn’t a big deal to them, but to those of us from the South, it was a big deal!

The next day was when I came down with the flu.  I assume it didn’t help that I had been playing in the snow all day.  I went home that Monday and, because I missed a whole week of classes, I now have a ton of work to make up.  So, I’m signing off for now!

 Until next week,

Molly
