The Christmas Banquet was incredible!  Everything worked out so well.  For having a full dinner and a play in the same evening, we had no major glitches.  The day was long, but so much fun.  Katie and I got up early and met Chad and Louis at the workshop.  After a slight fiasco involving our truck, we finally borrowed Dean Adams’s truck and headed out for Athens.  After unpacking and setting everything up, Katie and I left at 2:00 and came back to Toccoa for my hair appointment.  Then we went right back to Athens for the banquet.  After the play, everyone left and Katie and I cleaned up.  We finally had everything down by midnight, and we were invited to go bowling with some of our senior friends.  On the way back to Toccoa, we got terribly lost and ended up getting back a little late.

This week has been surprisingly stress-free, which was a nice change after last week.  Even with finals, I’ve had more free time than I thought I would have had and therefore, I’ve been able to hang out with people more and do more fun things.  Actually, the laziness of this week reminded me a lot of orientation week.  I figured I should go ahead and have as much fun as possible this week because I’m sure that I’ll have some rough finals weeks in the future.  On Monday night, we had a 10 PM pancake breakfast in the cafeteria.  On Tuesday night, I went to the men’s home basketball game against Piedmont College.  The guys fought hard, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win.  On Wednesday, I went off-roading with some people.  The truck I was riding in got stuck and the guys only got it out after about 4 hours of tugging it through the mud.  I saw the damage on it today; they had to cut off the muffler because it had gotten wrapped around the axel!

Well friends, this is my last journal in 2006.  It’s been an awesome semester.  Even with being a freshman and being the low man on the totem pole again, this has been the best semester of my life thus far.  I have met the most amazing people and have really stretched myself in a lot of ways.  I feel I have already grown mentally and spiritually through my professors, my friends, and my circumstances.  I cannot wait to go home tomorrow, but I also cannot wait to come back and see what challenges lie ahead next semester.

 Until ’07,

Molly
