| Each fall, home-schooled students make up 5 to 10% of the incoming
class at Toccoa Falls College. Our statistics show that home-schooled
students succeed at Toccoa Falls College and have a higher retention
rate than the national average. TFC strongly encourages
home-schooled students to
apply to the college. What is the application process for home-schoolers?
Home-schooled students should submit the TFC application, $25
application fee, and 250-word testimony to begin the application
process. Other application requirements include the student's SAT/ACT
test results, a pastoral reference, and the student's academic transcripts.
Transcripts should be obtained from an accrediting or outside group when
possible. If this is not possible, prepare the list of classes and the
grades received in each class and mail them to the Office of Admissions.
Please include the quantitative grading scale (i.e., 90-100 equals A,
80-89 equals B, etc.).
Does TFC require home-schoolers to take the GED?
Toccoa Falls College does not require home-schooled students to take
the GED.
What is the TFC recommended high school curriculum of
home-schooled students?
TFC does not endorse any particular curricular high school structure.
However, the recommended course work to be completed in high school is
listed in the academic and spiritual requirements section of
the TFC website.
Can home-schoolers receive the Georgia HOPE Scholarship?
Home-schooled students from Georgia may be eligible for the HOPE
Scholarship after attempting 30, 60, or 90 college semester hours of
study if they earn a college cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or
higher.
Do home-schoolers at TFC fit in and adjust smoothly to college
life?
Over the past 5 years, TFC has enrolled over 100 home-schooled
students. Once students are on campus, one the most important priorities
of the college staff is helping students to adjust to college life. Our
weeklong orientation program includes TFC Success Seminar; a course
designed to help students become familiar with the college's services
and to obtain the skills necessary for academic and social success.
Toccoa Falls College is committed to helping each student transition
smoothly into their college career.

"The small class sizes and caring professors, really make
the transition from being taught at home to going to college a
great deal easier. The warm Christian environment here at
Toccoa Falls College is really great and I really enjoy being
a student here."

"When considering colleges for our
home-schooled daughter, my husband and I were highly impressed
with Toccoa Falls College. The professors we observed displayed a
genuine concern for their students. The students we encountered
were very polite and helpful. Prayer was obviously an important
part of the college - from the admissions counselor who prayed
with us that the Lord would direct our college choice to the
professor who took prayer requests before his class began. The
Godly environment reassured us that our daughter would be safe and
grow spiritually, as well as academically, while attending Toccoa
Falls College."
