General Information
The awards that appear on the Award Letter are for full-time
attendance (12 credit hours per semester). If you are less than
full-time, some of your awards may be reduced and/or canceled. If you
have questions concerning this letter or any part of the financial aid
process, we are here to help. For new students, please contact the
Office of Admissions at (888)-785-5624. For returning students whose
last name begins with "A" - "K", please contact
Mrs. Cyndie Finney of the Office of Financial Aid at (706) 886-7299,
extension 5312. For returning students whose last name begins with
"L" - "Z", please contact Mr. Mark Price of the
Office of Financial Aid at (706) 886-7299, extension 5234.
TFC Scholarship and Grant Recipients
Incoming students, please note that your financial aid package is
based upon your final cumulative GPA from either your high school or
college. A final transcript must be received by the Office of
Admissions upon completion of the last term at your most recently
attended school.
Returning students, please note that your financial aid package is
based upon your final cumulative GPA at TFC at the required
checkpoints.
HOPE Scholarship Recipients
Graduating 2007 high school seniors, your HOPE Scholarship may have
been awarded based on your preliminary high school HOPE GPA of at least
a 3.00. This award will be canceled if your final high school HOPE GPA
is less than 3.00.
Transfer and returning students, your HOPE Scholarship may have been
awarded based on your preliminary HOPE GPA of at least a 3.00. Failure
to maintain a 3.00 HOPE GPA at the required checkpoints: 30, 60, 90
attempted hours and at the end of each spring semester will result in
this award being canceled.
Federal Work-Study Awards
Please keep in mind that even though you may have been awarded
Federal Work-Study, this is just an indication of your eligibility and
it is your responsibility to secure a job on-campus. You can check on
availability and qualifications via the "Student Employment"
link: http://www.tfc.edu/adm/sa/student_employment
.
Students that are awarded federal work-study cannot use these funds
to reconcile their student account since wages are paid directly to
students.
Federal Stafford and PLUS (Parent) Loan Borrowers
The loan amount on your Award Letter indicates the amount that you
have accepted and may have been based on an anticipated grade level for
the 2007-2008. Any change in grade level may affect the amount of loan
that you are eligible to borrow. Loan borrowers may be charged a
guarantee and/or an origination fee of up to 4% of the loan. For
instance, if you borrow a $2,000 loan, you may only receive $1,920
($2,000 minus the 4% fees).
