school of music

Excellence
If musical excellence is your desire, the Toccoa Falls College School of Music has the comprehensive music program that will equip you with the skills you need.
For many years the School of Music curriculum has been rooted in the classical tradition, as are the music curricula of major colleges and universities throughout the United States. But Toccoa Falls College has the distinction of preparing dedicated Christian students in a Christian atmosphere. We are preparing performers, music educators, composers, and church musicians to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Each student is guided to mastery of the art by patient and knowledgeable instruction in applied lessons (in voice, piano, and all band and orchestral instruments), ensembles, and courses which stress mastery of both the idiom and thought processes involved in the world's great music.

Looking to the Future
New trends in music, both within the evangelical church and in the world at large, color our campus life. Toccoa Falls College is in frequent contact with various cultures, and students are encouraged to explore music as diverse as contemporary Christian, jazz, twentieth century, Peruvian folk song, and the music of Sephardic Jews.

Get On the Right Track
All programs of study include courses in music theory, music history, performance, the humanities, and Bible.  Majors in the Toccoa Falls College School of Music include Music, Music Education, Church Music, Performance, and Composition.

In cooperation with local churches the School of Music also has access to a 21-rank Reuter pipe organ and a 56-rank Whalcker pipe organ.

Performing Organizations
Student musicians are encouraged to develop and share their God-given abilities through participation in music ensembles. These performing ensembles--Concert Band, Orchestra, College Choir, and Hand bell Choir--perform joint concerts and programs at various times of the year. The college choir, instrumental ensembles and summer music teams travel to various churches, camps and schools to minister through music.
