Student Ministry Overview
The STM Core Ministries
The following are descriptions of the student ministries you will be able to register for online. If you are registering for a student ministry for the first time, you will want to read through all of them before you select one. If you are a returning student, you will want to read through the list as well to become more familiar with the changes. The ministry you are looking for may not appear directly on the list, but the following synopsis should aid you in determining which title your student ministry falls under.
If you have any questions regarding the changes, please contact our office via email (stm@tfc.edu) or by phone (ext. 5224).
Campus Ministries
If you are doing any ministry on campus, the first thing you should know is that you will be signing up for a ministry that says "Campus" or "Campus Ministry" in front of it. This indicates to us that your ministry is to the TFC community. The major ministries are listed under their specific titles, such as Prayer Coordinator, WIM, and Barnabas Co-Leader. However, there are many ministries on campus and we have not listed them all. There are different levels of "Campus Ministry." If your ministry is not otherwise listed, please find the one that fits your specific ministry. (example: FCA).
Community Outreach Ministries
Ministry wthin the community works similarly as that on our campus. If you are doing a community outreach ministry, any ministry you sign up for should say "Community Outreach" before the title. There are many ministries to the community and we cannot list them all. We have chosen to list major ministries that are most popular amongst our student body such as Lightzone, Kidzone, Tutoring, Atlanta Outreach Ministry, etc. However, we recognize that some students get involved in new ministries every semester. If our Community Ministry options do not fit the ministry you are doing, please register for our 300 level Community Outreach Ministry and let us know where you plan to be working.
Local Church Ministries
In the same way as Community Outreach and Campus Ministries are categorized, so are the local church ministries. If you are working in a local church, please sign up under a ministry title that indicates that. There are several different local church categories, including worship ministry, ministry to adults, and ministry to children or youth. We have also included Local Church: Leadership as an option in case a student is directly involved in leadership in one of these four areas (this would mean a coordinator or director of something or someone).
Missions Ministries
Occassionally, students will go on missions trips during the regular semester (often over fall break or spring break). If a missions trip is at least a week long, students can count it for student ministry credit. There are two options student can choose. The first is for students who are participants in the missions trip, but are not in leadership and the other is for students who will be taking on leadership roles in a missions trip.
