REQUESTING BOOKS
Online students may use any of the circulating collection at the Seby Jones Library.
To Request a Book
- Look it up in ATHENA, the library catalog, to make sure that the library has the book and that it's available.
- Email Aaron Prosser, aprosser@tfc.edu, with the title, author, and the call number of the book, as well as your TFC Student ID and mailing address.
- Aaron will mail the book to you within one business day and include the due date and a return label.
- When you are finished with the book, return it to the library. You are responsible for return postage.
Due Dates
Online students may use a book for one month. Please mail the book back to the library by the due date.
If you need the book for longer than one month, please renew it using the My Account feature or contact Aaron.
eBooks
We have over 56,000 eBooks in our library catalog. You will need a username and password to access them. Please contact Aaron to set this up. Once you have a username and password setup, it will work for the duration of your studies at TFC.
Circulating Collection
Only the circulating collection is available for delivery to online students. Our non-circulating collection is not available.
Non-Circulating items include:
- DVDs, CDs, VHS, and tapes
- Reference Books (prefixed with R in the catalog)
- Children's Books
- Equipment
Inter-Library Loan
Online students can use inter-library loan (ILL) for needed books not available at the Seby Jones Library. To request an ILL, fill out the form on the ILL webpage. The item will be sent to the student and returned to us just like a normal book.
Local Libraries
Aaron will work with interested online students in identifying and attempting to gain borrowing priviliges at local research libraries. For more information, please contact him.
