Introduction & Criteria
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of Student Ministry is to provide Christian service to
the community. It also provides opportunities for students to learn and
gain experience outside of the classroom setting. Students are to learn
how to serve the church and all humanity through practical ministry
experience. The purpose statement of the Student Ministry program is to
challenge students toward spiritual and moral growth by involving them
in practical Christian ministry.
Students should remember that they are representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ and of Toccoa Falls College as they perform their ministries. Students should be careful to bring honor to the Lord and respect for Toccoa Falls College in appearance, actions, and words.
CRITERIA FOR A MINISTRY
To qualify for Student Ministry credit, a ministry must meet the
following criteria:
- The ministry will meet on a weekly basis for the semester, summer and for winterim.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT STUDENT MINISTRY
Choose the right ministry by browsing through the ministry descriptions in this section,
and by praying for direction into the right ministry to get involved
with. Then ask yourself: What goals do I have? What
future ministries do I want to be involved in at my church or for my
vocation? Choose a Student Ministry that can help you decide if that is
the direction you want to head.
What are you strengths? Where are your weaknesses? Do you enjoy working with children? Do you have musical gifts? Do you feel that you have a gift for teaching? Are you passionate about evangelizing? Utilize the talents and gifts God gave you. Talk to RAs about their previous Student Ministries. Ask juniors and seniors which ministries they enjoyed. Ask classmates in your major what they have done. Contact the Office of Student Ministry to help you choose a ministry that is right for you!
