August 29:
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer team got their season off on the right foot with a 7-0 victory at Tennesse Temple University on Tuesday. Leading the scoring was Andrew Wiese and David Eckman with two goals a piece. Paul Mallalieu and Shorty Yang each scored once for the Eagles, and Silas Stacey put in the first goal of his career.
Head Coach Jim Mattison was pleased with how the young team started, especially the defense, "We have eight new starters on this years team, and it was a very encouraging way to kick-off the year. It was exciting to see the new and returning players begin to come together so quickly, especially defending as a unit."
The Eagles play two more games later in the week at Bryan College on Friday, and at Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday. The much anticipated home opener will be next Thursday at 6:00pm against Piedmont Baptist College.
