UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA LIBRARY CARDS

Toccoa Falls College faculty and students may obtain UGA library cards which will allow them to check out materials from the Athens campus libraries. Cards are issued for a semester only. Cards may be requested for summer use, but must be reapplied for at the beginning of each semester.

To apply for a UGA library card the patron must:
  1. Request an application letter at the TFC Library Reference Desk (between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm) at least two days before a planned visit to UGA.
  2. Read through the application letter and sign on the bottom line as a pledge to abide by the UGA checkout guidelines.
The Reference Librarian will:
  1. Date and sign the letter.
  2. Fax the letter to UGA the next business day.
The UGA Library will:
  1. Type up a library card for the patron.
  2. Make it available at the circulation desk at the Main Library on Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  3. Allow the TFC patron to check out materials in the same manner as a UGA student.
  4. Notify patrons of overdue books.
  5. Notify TFC of unpaid fines.
The Patron is responsible to:
  1. Follow the guidelines listed on the UGA circulation information sheet for checking out and returning materials.
  2. Return materials to the UGA library. No materials will be returned from the TFC library.
  3. Pay fines promptly so as to not jeopardize our reciprocal agreement with UGA.
Toccoa Falls College will:
  1. Ultimately be responsible to reimburse UGA for materials lost by TFC patrons.
  2. Be responsible to UGA for unpaid fines of TFC patrons.
  3. Attach the corresponding charges for lost books and fines to the student's school bill.
A Note on UGA Fines

UGA fines are extremely expensive! As of 2008 it is $0.25 per day per book. If a book is not returned, the fines, the cost of each book not returned, and a $35.00 fee per book not returned is charged.
