TFC Baseball Splits with Brevard College (2/18)
The Toccoa Falls Eagles baseball team split a double header at Brevard College on Friday. In Game 1 the Eagles took  3-0 lead in the 1st before Brevard came back to take a 5-4 lead in the 5th. The Eagles responded with a run in the 6th to tie the game. However, Brevard went on to win the game on a Brandon Fleming single that landed just beyond the reach of 3B Braden Langley
In Game 2 the Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning and never looked back. Chad Craig threw 7 innings of 4 hit baseball as the Eagles took Game two 6-1. On the day, the Eagles were led offensively by John Jordan (4-7, 3 runs) and Langley (3-8, 3 RBI). The Eagles will be in action again on Tuesday at Southern Wesleyan University at
4 PM

 

Men's Basketball Team Completes Season (2/21)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team ended its season with a 63-90 loss to third seeded Wesley College in the first round of the NCCAA South Region Tournament.  The Eagles managed to keep the score close until halftime trailing only seven points 25-32.  In the second half, however, the Warriors of Wesley College were too strong for the visiting Eagles.  The Eagles close out the season with an overall record of 13-19.

Women's Basketball Players Receive All Region Honors (2/21)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team had three players receive NCCAA All Region Honors.  Senior Kelly James was placed on the South Region 1st Team, Junior Amy Embry was placed on the South Region 2nd Team, and Freshman Dyanna Cannon was placed on the South Region Honorable Mention Team.  Congratulations go out to these outstanding student athletes!

Women's Basketball Team Ends Season (2/21)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team ended its season with a 59-66 loss to Southeastern University in the semifinals of the NCCAA South Region Tournament.  Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring were:  Senior Kelly James with 20 points, Freshman Dyanna Cannon 12 points, and Junior Sarah English 10 points.  The Lady Eagles finish the season with an overall record of 16-12.

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Atlanta Christian (2/7)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost to Atlanta Christian College 72-73. The leading scorers for the Eagles were Ryan Terry with 16, Ron Daniels with 15, Jason Shaffer with 13, Josh Abernathy with 11 and Tommy Penland with 10. Josh Abernathy also led the team with 10 rebounds. The Men continue their season Florida this week. 

Women's Basketball Team Loses to Huntingdon (2/4)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team lost again today to Huntingdon College in Montgomery 64-75. The leading scorers for the Eagles were Sarah English with 16, Dyanna Cannon with 14 and Kelly James with 12. The Women join the Men on February 7 in East Point, Georgia as they match up against Atlanta Christian College

Women's Basketball Team Loses to Judson (2/3)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team lost to Judson College 56-68. The leading scorers for the Eagles were Dyanna Cannon with 15, Amy Embry with 14 and Kelly James with 10. Dyanna and Amy also led the team in rebounds with 19 and 9 respectively. The Women play again tomorrow at Huntingdon College in Montgomery at 1:00

Amy Embry Voted Student of the Week in January
Amy Embry, junior starting point guard for the Lady Eagles basketball team was selected as the student athlete of the week for January 16-22, 2006. Embry scored 40 points, dished out 10 assists, totaled 8 steals, and shot 68.4% from the field for two games. Embry had a team high 26 points against Atlanta Christian College , leading them to a 79-67 conference victory. The NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week award is given to one player in each sport, which is chosen from the list of nominees submitted by all the nations' basketball teams each week. The student-athlete should exemplify the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA.

Men's Basketball Team Defeats Piedmont Baptist (1/31)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team defeated Piedmont Baptist 68-60. The game was tied at half and the Eagles came back to score 32 over Piedmonts 24 in the second half. The leading scorers for the Eagles were Tommy Penland with 15, Jason Shaffer with 14, Ryan Terry with 11 and Aubrey Mixon with 10. Ryan Terry also led in rebounds with 16, and Ron Daniels was close behind with 11. The men play again February 2 in Demorest Ga. against Piedmont College at 7:00.

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Piedmont Baptist (1/31)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Piedmont Baptist College 66-32. The Eagles were leading the half 30-17. The leading scorers were Casy Martin with 18 and Kelly James with 10. Sarah English led with 11 rebounds. The women play again this weekend in Alabama going up against Judson College at 6:00

Trinity College Cancels Remainder of Season (1/31)
Trinity College of Florida has cancelled the remainder of its Men's Basketball Season.  This effects two games on the schedule with Toccoa Falls College.  Therefore, there will be no men's basketball game this Saturday February 4 and there will be no game in Florida on February 11.

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Wesleyan College (1/30)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Wesleyan College 75-40. The Eagles stayed ahead, leading 40-23 at half. The leading scorers were Sarah English with 16, Kelly James with 13, Dyanna Cannon with 12 and Amy Embry with 10. Dyanna Cannon also had 11 rebounds. This was their final regular season home game. They will continue their season in Winston Salem against Piedmont Baptist January 31.

Women's Basketball Team Loses to Judson College (1/28)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team lost Saturday to Judson College 51-73. The leading scorers were Sarah English with 16 and Dyanna Cannon with 8. Both of these girls also had 10 rebounds a piece. The Eagles were soundly defeated as they only shot 27% for the game. The Women will be playing again on January 30 at 6:00 for their last regular season home game.

Men's Basketball Team Barely Loses to Clearwater (1/27)
The Toccoa Falls College Men's Basketball Team had a close game against the Clearwater Cougars in which they lost 59-60 at the buzzer. They were trailing at half 29-32. The leading scores were Tommy Penland with 18, Jason Shaffer with 12 and Ron Daniels with 11 and 11 rebounds. The men continue their season on the 31st against Piedmont Baptist College in Winston Salem, NC. 

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Clearwater (1/27)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Clearwater Christian 70-49. This is the first defeat for the Eagles over Clearwater in 5 seasons. The Eagles were barely ahead at the half with a score of 26-23 and then played a solid second half to defeat a young Clearwater Christian. The leading scorers in the game were Kelly James with 18, Dyanna Cannon and Sarah English with 12 and Amanda Shull with 11. The Women play again Saturday the 28th against Judson College at home. 

Men's Basketball Team Wins Big Over Florida Christian (1/26)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team defeated the Florida Christian Suns 101-62. The Eagles were leading at the half 52-31 and then finished it off with 49 points in the second half. The leading scorers were Jason Shaffer with 23, Ryan Terry with 14 and Dan Branch and Jake Jones both with 10. The Eagles play again the 27th at home against Clearwater

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Piedmont College (1/24)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost to the Piedmont Lions 98-74. The Eagles were trailing at the half 40-51. The high scorers for the Eagles were Tommy Penland with 28, and Josh Abernathy with 14. Ryan Terry led the team in rebounds with 12. The men played hard and had a good game. Their record is now 8-13. The men play January 26 at home against Florida Christian. 

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Wesleyan (1/21)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Wesleyan 66-35. They were leading at half with 37 over 19. The leading scorers were Amy Embry with 14, Sarah English with 13, Kelly James with 11 and Casy Martin with 10. The Lady Eagles will continue their season with a game at home against Clearwater Christian on January 27.

Men's Basketball Team Defeats Florida Christian (1/21)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team defeated Florida Christian, 96-68. The five leading scorers were Josh Abernathy with 18, Ryan Terry and Jason Shaffer with 15, Ron Daniels with 13 and Dan DuJack with 10. Ryan Terry also led the team in rebounds with 16. Toccoa led the half with 43 over 34. The Eagles will continue their season at home on January 24 against Piedmont College.

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Clearwater Christian (1/20)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost by a mere 6 points to Clearwater Christian, 69-75. The Eagles were leading at half with a score of 35-34. The leading scorers were Ron Daniels with 24 and Jason Shaffer with 16. Leading Toccoa in rebounds were Ron Daniels and Josh Abernathy with 11 and 12 rebounds respectively. They will finish their Florida trip with a game against Florida Christian tomorrow. 

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Atlanta Christian (1/16)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost to South Region rival Atlanta Christian College by the score of 58-84.  The Eagles were trailing at halftime 27-38.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Ryan Terry with 13 points followed by Josh Abernathy with 11 and Ron Daniels with 9.  The Eagles are now 7-11 on the season and 2-4 in the South Region.  They will travel to Florida this weekend to play Region opponents Clearwater Christian and Florida Christian.

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Atlanta Christian (1/16)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated South Region rival Atlanta Christian by the score of 79-67.  The Lady Eagles were up at halftime 36-28.  The Lady Eagles were up by as many as twenty points in the second half but Atlanta would not go away and eventually cut the lead to six with six minutes to play.  The Lady Eagles then pushed the lead back to their thirteen point margin of victory.  The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Amy Embry with 26 points, followed by Kelly James with 16 and Casey Martin with 11.  The Lady Eagles are now 10-5 on the season and 2-1 in the South Region.  They will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Wesleyan College of Macon, GA for a 2:00 contest.

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Wesley College (1/15)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team found itself trailing to Wesley College 31-4 with 8:30 minutes left in the first half of the game.  The Eagles then managed to regroup and closed the gap to 40-26 by halftime.  The Eagles continued to battle in the second half but could never get closer than four points and finally lost by the score of 75-71.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Tommy Penland with 18 points.  Other players in double figures were:  Jason Shaffer 16, Ron Daniels 14, Josh Abernathy 12, and Ryan Terry 10.  The Eagles will play again at home Tuesday night against South Region rival Atlanta Christian at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball Team Defeats Carver Bible (1/14)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team defeated Carver Bible of Atlanta, GA by the score of 66-64.  The Eagles led at halftime 37-30.  With five minutes left in the game the Eagles were up 65-54 and then managed to hold off a late Carver rally to salvage the win.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Jason Shaffer with 20 points.  Ryan Terry added 16, Josh Abernathy and Ron Daniels scored 8 apiece.  The Eagles will take on Region opponent Wesley College of Jackson, MS tonight at 7:00.

Men's Basketball Team Defeats Warren Wilson (1/13)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team defeated Warren Wilson College on Tuesday night by the score of 82-49.  The Eagles had five players score in double figures:  Tommy Penland 16 points, Matt Griffin 14, Aubrey Mixon 12, Ryan Terry 11, and Jason Shaffer 10.  Ryan Terry also had 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles.  The Eagles travel to Carver Bible tonight and Wesley College tomorrow for two South Region contests.

Women's Basketball Team Wins Big Over Warren Wilson (1/13)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Warren Wilson College of Asheville, NC by the score of 84-15.  The Lady Eagles led at halftime 52-9.  It was the largest margin of victory for the Lady Eagles this season.  Five of the players scored in double figures:  Kelly James 16 points, Amy Embry 15, Dyanna Cannon 12, Casey Martin 11, and Sarah English 10.  Dyanna Cannon also grabbed 9 rebounds and Sarah English 8.  The Lady Eagles will play again on Tuesday January 17 at 5:00 at home against South Region rival Atlanta Christian College.

Men's Basketball Team Ends Seven Game Losing Streak (12/7)
The Toccoa Falls College Men's Basketball Team defeated Region opponent Piedmont Baptist College on Tuesday night by the score of 96-87.  The Eagles were up early 42-26, but Piedmont Baptist was able to close the gap to 49-44 by halftime.  The game remained close and was tied 87-87 at the 2:30 mark.  The Eagles then went on a 9-0 run to close out the game.  Trevor Flow led the Eagles scoring attack with a season high 40 points.  Ryan Terry added 20 points and Ron Daniels 18.  The Eagles close out the semester with an overall record of 5-9.  They will play their next game on January 10 at home against Warren Wilson College.

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Piedmont Baptist (12/7)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team defeated Region opponent Piedmont Baptist of Winston Salem, NC by the score of 70-43.  The Lady Eagles jumped out to an early 12-0 lead and never looked back.  The Lady Eagles were led again in scoring by Kelly James with 20 points.  Casy Martin tossed in 17 points.  The Lady Eagles close out the semester with an 8-5 overall record.  Their next game will be January 10 at home against Warren Wilson College.

Women's Basketball Team Loses to Piedmont College (12/6)
The Toccoa Falls College Women's Basketball Team lost to Piedmont College of Demorest, GA on Monday night by the score of 75-93.  The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Kelly James with 21 points.  Sarah English and Amy Embry added 13 points each.  

Women's Basketball Team Splits a Pair of Games in TFC Classic (12/5)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team won one game and lost one game over the weekend in the Toccoa Falls Classic.  The Lady Eagles lost their first game in a Region match-up against Southeastern University of Lakeland, FL by the score of 62-70.  The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Kelly James with 23 points and Sarah English with 15 points.  Dyanna Cannon grabbed 14 rebounds in the game.  On Saturday the Lady Eagles faced off against Johnson and Wales University of Miami, FL. and defeated them by the score of 81-77.   The Lady Eagles placed five players in double figures in scoring:  Kelly James 21, Casy Martin 19, Amy Embry 11, Amanda Shull 10, and Dyanna Cannon 10.  Kelly James also led all players with 21 rebounds.  With the win, the Lady Eagles improve their record to 7-4 on the season.  They will finish the semester playing at Piedmont College of Demorest, GA tonight and then at home tomorrow night against Region opponent Piedmont Baptist College.

Men's Basketball Team Loses Seventh Game in a Row (12/5)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost both of its games this weekend in the Toccoa Falls Classic.  In their first game, they lost to Region opponent Wesley College on a last second three point shot by the score of 63-64.  With 4:50 remaining in the game, the Eagles were up 62-55.  However, they could only convert one foul shot down the stretch.  Robert Blanton led the Eagles in scoring with 10 points and then Tommy Penland, Trevor Flow, and Ryan Terry added nine points each.  On Saturday the Eagles lost to Johnson and Wales University from Miami, FL by the score of 49-67.  Trevor Flow led the Eagles with 16 points.  The Eagles will close out the semester at home Tuesday night against Region opponent Piedmont Baptist College.

Men's Basketball Team Loses Two at ACC Charger Classic (11/21)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost both of their games at the Atlanta Christian College Charger Classic.  In their first game, they lost to Johnson Bible College 68-82.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Trevor Flow with 13 points, Tommy Penland and Ryan Terry had 10 points each.  In their second game the Eagles lost to Cincinnati Christian University 60-70.  Ryan Terry led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points.  Jason Shaffer added 11 and Paul Mallalieu 9.  The Eagles travel to Wofford College tonight to take on their first of two NCAA Division I opponents, game time is 7:00.

Women's Basketball Team Beats Johnson, Loses to Cincinnati (11/21)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team split a pair of games at the ACC Charger Classic.  In their first game, the Lady Eagles defeated Johnson Bible College by the score of 71-64.  The Lady Eagles had four players score in double figures; Sarah English 17, Amanda Shull 15, Kelly James 15, and Casy Martin 11.  In their second game of the Classic, the Lady Eagles lost a close one to Cincinnati Christian University 65-73.  Kelly James led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 24 points and Sarah English added 11.  The Lady Eagles will be in action again tonight at 5:00 as they host Agnes Scott College.

Men's Basketball Team Loses to Carver Bible (11/16)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost to South Region opponent Carver Bible by the score of 77-87.  The Eagles were trailing by three at halftime and with seven minutes left in the game took the lead 62-61.  Carver quickly took the lead back and made eight of ten foul shots in the last 1:17 of the game to seal the win.  Leading scorers for the Eagles were:  Trevor Flow 24 points, Tommy Penland 14, Ron Daniels 10, and Matt Griffin 9.  The Eagles will travel to Atlanta to play in the Charger Classic this weekend.  Their first opponent will be Johnson Bible at 12:00 on Friday.

Cross Country Student Athletes Receive National Honors (11/14)
Four Toccoa Falls Cross Country Student Athletes received NCCAA National recognition at the National Cross Country Invitational this past weekend.  Aaron White and Maggie Taylor were named Second Team All Americans.  Ben Landes and Melissa Benton were named NCCAA Scholar Athletes for maintaining a 3.4 or higher gpa.  Congratulations to these outstanding student athletes!

Cross Country Teams Compete at NCCAA National Invitational (11/14)
The Toccoa Falls Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams competed at the National Christian College Athletic Association Invitational meet this past weekend.  The Women's Team finished 3rd and the Men's Team 4th in Division II.  Maggie Taylor was the top runner for the women with a time of 22:44 placing her 10th overall in Division II.  Aaron White was the top runner for the men with a time of 29:02 placing him 8th overall in Division II.  Finishing out the top five for the women were Melissa Benton 23:04, Nadia Waterman 23:46, Layla Ledbetter 24:49, and Casy Martin 25:13.  Rounding out the top five for the men were Elijah Behnke 30:12, Jason Kohl 30:18, Ben Landes 31:40, and Daniel Rodrigues 32:08.

Men's Basketball Team Competes in Lancaster Bible Classic (11/14)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team won two out three games at the Lancaster Bible North/South Shootout.  The Eagles lost their first game to Multnomah Bible College 74-77.  The Eagles had a chance to tie at the end but a three point attempt fell short.  The Eagles had four players in double figures; Tommy Penland 22, Trevor Flow 19, Aubrey Mixon 10, and Ryan Terry 10.  In their second game, the Eagles played Lancaster Bible and found themselves down 14 points with around seven left.  The Eagles then started to slowly come back and with five seconds left they had the ball with the game tied 69-69.  A timeout was called with 1.9 seconds left.  The Eagles then ran a play that inbounded the ball to Trevor Flow and he hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer to win 71-69.  Ron Daniels led the team in scoring with 22 points. Trevor had 18, Aubrey Mixon 13, and Ryan Terry 12.  In their final game, the Eagles played Valley Forge and won 94-64.  In this game the Eagles had five players in double figures:  Trevor Flow 27, Ron Daniels 22, Dan DuJack 17, Ryan Terry 12, and Jake Jones 10.  The Eagles are now 4-2 on the season and will play Carver Bible at home on Tuesday at 5:00.

Women's Basketball Team Competes in Super 8 Classic (11/14)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team won 1 out of 3 games this past weekend at the Super 8 Classic at Kentucky Christian University.  The Lady Eagles began the tournament with a win over Grace Bible College 77-70.  Casy Martin led the Lady Eagles with 24 points, Sarah English had 20, and Kelly James added 17.  In the second game the Lady Eagles lost to Asbury College 56-67.  Dyanna Cannon and Amanda Shull were the leading scorers with 12 points each.  In the final game, the Lady Eagles faced the NCCAA defending National Champions in Kentucky Christian University and with three minutes to go were only down two points.  However, in the end the Lady Eagles were defeated 63-79.  Kelly James led the Lady Eagles with 24 and Sarah English added 15.  Kelly James was named to the Super 8 Classic All Tournament Team.  The Lady Eagles are now 4-2 on the season and will play next in the ACC Charger Classic Nov. 18 and 19 at 10:00 a.m. each day.

Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Win at Warren Wilson (11/9)
The Toccoa Falls Men's and Women's Basketball Teams each won at Warren Wilson College Tuesday night.  The Lady Eagles won by the score of 75-45.  Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring were Amanda Shull, Amy Embry, and Casy Martin all with 14 points each.  Sarah English added 9 points.  The men won by the score of 76-51 after leading at halftime 40-18.  Leading the Eagles in scoring were Aubrey Mixon with 19, Trevor Flow 18, Tommy Penland 14, and Ryan Terry 10.  

Women's Basketball Team Defeats Freewill Baptist Bible College (11/7)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team won its second game in a row by defeating Freewill Baptist 64-51.  Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring were Kelly James and Amy Embry with 16 points each.  The Lady Eagles play Warren Wilson College on Tuesday and then travel to Grayson Kentucky for the Super 8 Classic at Kentucky Christian College.

Men's Soccer Team Finishes Fourth in NCCAA National Tournament (11/7)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team lost to Clearwater Christian 2-3 giving them a fourth place finish at the National Tournament.  Jamie Hotalen and Andrew Wiese scored for the Eagles.  The Eagles finish the season with a record of 15-8-1Jamie Hotalen was chosen for the All Tournament Team and he was also chosen as a First Team All American.  Congratulations to Jamie and to the entire Men's Soccer Team on an outstanding season.

Men's Soccer Team Loses in Semifinals (11/5)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team lost 1-3 to Manhattan Christian College in the semifinal round of the NCCAA National Tournament.  Andrew Wiese scored the lone goal for the Eagles.  Manhattan is the #1 seed and will play Cincinnati Christian University in the Championship match today.  The Eagles will play Clearwater Christian in the consolation match at 2:00.     

Men's Basketball Team Defeats Johnson Bible (11/4)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team experienced a come from behind victory against Johnson Bible by the score of 81-76.  Johnson Bible led at halftime 41-26, then pushed the lead to 58-38 with just over 13 minutes left in the game.  The Eagles then slowly began cutting into the lead and were down 57-66 with just under seven minutes remaining.  The Eagles then went on a 13-0 run to take a 70-66 lead.  Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Trevor Flow with 37 points.  Aubrey Mixon had 10 points, and Tommy Penland and Ron Daniels had 9 points each.  The Eagles play at Warren Wilson College on Tuesday at 7:00.

Women's Basketball Team Wins Season Opener (11/4)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Basketball Team won its season opener by defeating Johnson Bible College by the score of 60-39.  The Lady Eagles were slow getting started, down 0-4 five minutes into the game.  However, they finished the half with a 30-10 run to lead 30-14.  The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Dyanna Cannon with 13 points and Kelly James with 12 points.  The Lady Eagles play at home again on Saturday at 2:00 against Freewill Baptist Bible College.

Men's Soccer Team Defeats Crown College (MN) (11/4)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team won its first round match of the NCCAA National Tournament by defeating Crown College (MN) by the score of 7-4.  The Eagles were down 0-2 early in the match then scored three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead.  Crown then tied it at 3-3 and then the Eagles answered with another goal to make it 4-3 at halftime.  Crown scored first in the second half to again tie the game 4-4.  Then the Eagles again scored three unanswered goals to win 7-4.  Leading the Eagles in scoring was Andrew Wiese with four goals, Jamie Hotalen scored two goals, and Jake Warren had one.  The Eagles will play #1 seed Manhattan Christian today at 4:30.

Men's Basketball Team Loses Season Opener (11/2)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Basketball Team lost its season opener to Freewill Baptist Bible College by the score of 52-65.  The Eagles were down 0-10 and 7-27 before closing the margin to 24-34 at halftime.  In the second half the Eagles again fell behind by as much as twenty points and could never get closer than a ten point deficit.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Ryan Terry with 13 points, and Trevor Flow and Tommy Penland with 10 points each.  The Eagles play at home again this Thursday at 7:00 against Johnson Bible College.

Coach McCollum Named NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year (11/2)
The NCCAA South Region Men's Soccer Coaches voted Toccoa Falls Coach Jim McCollum as the Coach of the Year for the 2005 season.  This honor comes in Coach McCollum's second year as head coach.  After going 7-12-1 in his first year, Coach McCollum led this year's team to a 14-6-1 record and the Region Championship.  Congratulations Coach McCollum!

Men's Soccer Team Fourth Seed at National Tournament (11/1)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team will be the fourth seed at the NCCAA National Tournament this weekend in Kissimmee, FL.  The Eagles will play fifth seed Crown College (MN) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday November 3.  Some of the players will be involved in a Ministry Outreach Clinic on Wednesday at 5:30 with On Goal Ministry.  Results of the tournament can be found at www.thenccaa.org.  Click on sports, then Division II Men's Soccer, then Championships.

Toccoa Falls Student Athletes Receive All Region Honors (10/31)
NCCAA South Region Honors were handed out at the Fall Sports Region Tournaments this past weekend.  Athletes receiving honors for Men's Soccer were:  First Team All Region;  Jamie Hotalen (most votes in region), Jake Warren, and Andrew Weise.  Second Team All Region;  Matt Dixon, Jason Shaffer, and Paul Mallalieu.  Athletes receiving honors for Women's Soccer were:  First Team All Region;  Tara Minter and Katie Caldwell.  Second Team All Region;  Ashley Jordan and Arri Hotalen.  Athletes receiving honors for Volleyball were:  First Team All Region;  Christine Kennedy.  Second Team All Region;  Rachel Smith.  All Region Honorable Mention;  Allison Altmanshofer and Annie Laurie.  Congratulations to these outstanding student athletes!

Men's Soccer Team Wins Region Championship! (10/29)
The Toccoa Falls Men Soccer team won the Region Championship on penalty kicks 5-3.  After battling to a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods against Clearwater Christian College, the match went to penalty kicks.  The Eagles converted on all five kicks.  Scoring for the Eagles were Andrew Weise, Matt Dixon, Jason Shaffer, Jake Warren, and Region Player of the Year Jamie Hotalen.  Hotalen also stopped the fourth penalty kick that Clearwater attempted.  The Eagles will travel to Florida again this week for the NCCAA National Tournament.

Men's Soccer Team in Championship Game (10/29)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team will be facing Clearwater Christian College in the championship game of the NCCAA South Region Soccer Tournament.  The Eagles defeated #2 seed Southeastern University by the score of 2-1.  Senior Jamie Hotalen scored both goals for the team.  The game will be played at 1:00 at Southeastern University.

Women's Soccer Team Finishes Season (10/29)
The Toccoa Falls Soccer Team ended its season with a 0-2 loss to Clearwater Christian College in the first round of the NCCAA South Region Women's Soccer Tournament.  The Lady Eagles finish the season with a record of 6-10-3.  The championship game of the tournament will be played today at 1:00 with Southeastern University facing Clearwater Christian College.

Women's Soccer Team Completes Regular Season With Victory (10/24)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team closed out the regular season with a win over Kentucky Christian University by the score of 3-0.  Scoring for the Lady Eagles were Mel Miner, Ashley Jordan, and Arri Hotalen.  The Lady Eagles will now prepare for the NCCAA South Region Tournament where they will face Clearwater Christian in the first round on Friday at 4:00.

Women's Soccer Team Defeats Kentucky Christian University (10/22)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team won a very tight contest at Kentucky Christian University on Friday by the score of 1-0.  Tara Minter scored the winning goal for the Lady Eagles.  The Lady Eagles will play KCU again today at 11:00 a.m.  This will complete the regular season.  Currently, their overall record stands at 5-9-3.  The Lady Eagles will be hosting the NCCAA South Region Tournament on October 28 and 29.  They will face Clearwater Christian at 4:00 on Friday.

Volleyball Team Defeats Wesleyan College (10/21)
The Toccoa Falls Volleyball Team defeated Wesleyan College of Macon, GA in three straight games last night.  The Lady Eagles won the games by the scores of 31-29, 30-24, and 30-20.  Their overall record is now 13-9 with one regular season match remaining.  Their last home game will be October 25 against Spartanburg Methodist College at 6:00.  

NCCAA South Region Men's Soccer Tournament Postponed (10/21)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team will not be traveling to Florida this weekend due to the uncertainty of Hurricane Wilma.  The tournament has been moved to the weekend of October 28 and 29.  The third seeded Eagles will face second seed and host Southeastern University in the first round.  Fourth seeded Piedmont Baptist will play first seed Clearwater Christian.  The Eagles ended the regular season with a record of 12-6-1.

Women's Soccer Team Wins Big at Tennessee Temple (9/27)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team defeated Tennessee Temple University on Tuesday by the score of 10-0.  It was the first time this season the Lady Eagles scored more than two goals in a game.  It was also the second shutout for the team.  Leading the scoring outburst for the Lady Eagles were Mel Miner and Tara Minter with three goals each, followed by Michelle Mallalieu, Ashley Jordan, Gao Foua Kue, and Arri Hotalen with one each.  The following ladies recorded assists for the contest:  Tara Minter 3, Arri Hotalen, and Ashley Jordan.  The win improved their overall record to 3-4-2.  The Lady Eagles travel to Florida this weekend to play Clearwater Christian College and Southeastern University.

Volleyball Team Loses to Brenau University and Reinhardt College (9/27)
The Toccoa Falls Volleyball Team lost to Brenau University this past Friday 1-3.  After winning the first game by the score of 30-27, the Lady Eagles lost three straight 17-30, 30-32, and 21-30.  On Saturday the Lady Eagles received a win by forfeit from Piedmont Baptist College.  Then last night the Lady Eagles traveled to Reinhardt College and lost in three straight.  The Lady Eagles will be back at home on Thursday to face Wesleyan College at 6:30.

Golf Team Finishes Third at Regional Tournament (9/26)
The Toccoa Falls Golf Team finished third at the NCCAA South Regional Tournament this past weekend at World Woods Golf Course in Brooksville, FL.  The Eagles were led by Nate Brown with a two day score of 159.  The Tournament was won by Southeastern University of Lakeland, FL.  The next match for the Eagles will be October 1 in Valdosta, GA.

Men's Soccer Team Defeats Piedmont Baptist (9/26)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team won its third region game in a row by defeating Piedmont Baptist College by the score of 5-1.  For the third time this season Jamie Hotalen scored three goals in a game.  The other two goals were scored by Jake Warren and Andrew Wiese.  The following players recorded assists for the Eagles:  Jason Shaffer 2, Andrew Wiese 2, Jamie Hotalen,  Jake Warren, and Matt Lama.  The Eagles are now 3-2 in the region and 7-3 overall.  The Eagles have a big road trip this weekend as they will travel to Florida to face Clearwater Christian on Friday and Southeastern University on Saturday.

Men's Soccer Team Wins Big At Atlanta Christian (9/22)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team defeated rival Atlanta Christian by the score of 10-0.  It was the fourth shutout of the season for the Eagles.  Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Jake Warren with three goals followed by three players with two goals each:  Jamie Hotalen, Andrew Wiese, and Daniel Greenfield.  Matt Byrd also added a goal.  The following players recorded assists in the contest:  Matt Byrd 4, Jake Warren 2, Andrew Wiese 2, Jason Shaffer 2, Daniel Greenfield 1, and Danny Murphy 1.  The win evens the team's region record at 2-2.  The Eagles play again at home this Saturday at 4:00 against Piedmont Baptist.

Women's Soccer Team Ties Atlanta Christian (9/22)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team tied Atlanta Christian 1-1 in overtime.  The Lady Eagles took an early lead on Mel Miner's first goal of her collegiate career.  Atlanta then tied the game in the second half with neither team being able to score the remainder of the contest.  The Lady Eagles will play again in Chattanooga, TN on Tuesday against Tennessee Temple University.

Men's Soccer Team Pounds Piedmont Baptist College (9/20)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team won big over regional opponent Piedmont Baptist College by the score of 7-0.  It was a nice win after two tough losses over the weekend.  Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Jamie Hotalen with three goals.  It was the second time this season Jamie has scored three times in a game.  Andrew Wiese added two goals and Jason Shaffer had one goal.  The Eagles will face another regional foe Thursday at Atlanta Christian College and then will finish out the week at home on Saturday against Piedmont Baptist at 4:00.  The Eagles are now 1-2 in the region and 5-3 overall.

Volleyball Team Defeats Atlanta Christian (9/20)
The Toccoa Falls Volleyball Team defeated regional foe Atlanta Christian in three straight games.  The scores of the match were 30-17, 30-15, and 30-16.  The Lady Eagles have won four matches in a row and are now 3-2 in the region and 7-4 overall.  They will be in action again this Friday at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA at 6:00.  Then they will be at home on Saturday against another region opponent Piedmont Baptist College.  Game time for this match is 3:00.

Cross Country Teams Finish 2nd and 3rd (9/19)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Cross Country Team finished second and the Women's Team finished third at the Oglethorpe Invitational this past Saturday.  It was the highest finish of the season for both teams.  The top five runners for the Men's team were:  Aaron White (31:15), Elijah Behnke (32:00), Daniel Rodrigues (33:56), Ben Landes (35:06), and Devon Harrison (35:22).  The top five runners for the Women's team were:  Maggie Taylor (22:49), Melissa Benton (23:58), Casy Martin (24:42), Nadia Waterman (24:45), and Erin Crandall (26:25).  Coach Young was very excited about his teams performances.  The next meet they will be competing in is the Georgia Collegiate Invitational on Saturday October 1 in Atlanta.

Men's Soccer Team Loses Two Close Region Contests (9/19)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team lost two region games this past weekend to Southeastern University and Clearwater Christian College.  Both games were lost by the scores of 2-1.  Against Southeastern, Jamie Hotalen had the only goal for the Eagles, and against Clearwater, Andrew Wiese scored the lone goal on a penalty kick.  The Eagles will play three region games this week; away at Piedmont Baptist on Tuesday, away at Atlanta Christian on Thursday, and at home against Piedmont Baptist on Saturday at 4:00.

Women's Soccer Team Splits Pair of Region Games (9/19)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team went 1-1 in region play this past weekend.  In their first game they lost to Southeastern University by the score of 3-0.  The Lady Eagles responded on Saturday by defeating Clearwater Christian 2-1 in overtime.  Tara Minter scored both goals for the Lady Eagles bringing her total to five on the season.  The next game for the Lady Eagles will be away against regional opponent Atlanta Christian on Thursday at 3:15.

Volleyball Team Wins Two Matches (9/19)
The Toccoa Falls Volleyball Team won two matches this past week defeating Agnes Scott College and Oglethorpe University.  First, at Agnes Scott, the Lady Eagles won the first two games of the match 30-17and 30-27.  Then Agnes Scott battled back to win the next two games 30-19 and 30-25.  The Lady Eagles then closed out the match by winning the final game 18-16.  In their second match of the week, the Lady Eagles hosted Oglethorpe University.  The Lady Eagles lost the first game 34-36, then won the next two 30-23 and 30-14.  Oglethorpe rebounded to win the fourth 30-23, then the Lady Eagles were able to close out the match by the score of 15-11.  The Lady Eagles are now 6-4 on the season and will host regional foe Atlanta Christian College tomorrow at 4:00.

Women's Soccer Team Loses to Brenau (9/13)
The Toccoa Falls Women's Soccer Team lost to Brenau University today by the score of 4-1.  Tara Minter scored the lone goal for the Lady Eagles, it was her third goal of the season.  The Lady Eagles will be back at home this Friday for their first region game of the season against Southeastern University at 3:30.

Cross Country Team Competes at Lander Invitational (9/10)
The Toccoa Falls Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams competed at the Lander/Connie Maxwell Cross Country Invitational today.  It was the second meet of the season for the teams and both showed improvement from their first meet.  The Men's team finished sixth and the Women's team placed ninth.  The leading runners for the men were Jason Kohl with a time of 30:34 and Aaron White with a time of 31:05.  Leading runners for the ladies were Maggie Taylor (23:28), Melissa Benton (23:50), and Casy Martin (23:55).  The next meet for the Eagles will be Saturday September 17 at Oglethorpe University.

Volleyball Team Wins One of Two Matches (9/10)
The Toccoa Falls Volleyball Team lost to Southeastern University and defeated Piedmont Baptist on the final day of the North/South Shootout.  Southeastern defeated the Lady Eagles by the scores of 30-17, 30-12, and 30-17.  The Lady Eagles then turned around and defeated Piedmont Baptist in three straight games by the scores of 30-24, 30-17, and 30-15.  The Lady Eagles are now 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the South Region.  Their next match is Thursday September 15 at Agnes Scott College.

Men's Soccer Team Defeats Kentucky Christian University (9/10)
The Toccoa Falls Men's Soccer Team won its fourth game of the season by defeating the Knights of Kentucky Christian University 6-0.  It was the Eagles second shutout of the season.  Scoring one goal each for the Eagles were Matthew Byrd, Andrew Wiese, Chris Croyle, and Shorty Yang.  Jamie Hotalen rounded out the scoring with two goals.  Shorty also had two assists to go along with Kent Germaine's two assists.  The Eagles will play their first Region games this coming weekend against Southeastern University on Friday and Clearwater Christian on Saturday.  Friday's game time has been moved to 5:30.

Women's Soccer Team Gets First Win (9/10)
The Toccoa Falls Womens' Soccer Team won its first match of the season at home today against Kentucky Christian University.  The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Knights in overtime by the score of 1-0.  Tara Minter scored the winning goal and she was assisted by Kara Gruber.  The Lady Eagles will play at Brenau University on Tuesday September 13 at 7:00
