Spiritual Life
Students at Toccoa Falls College experience a spiritual formation environment that is intentionally designed to develop the relational, cognitive, and active aspects of their spiritual maturity. The love of Jesus Christ compels us to interact with each other, our community, and our world to ensure that the message of Christ's love continues to impact people's lives. Not only does involvement in ministry make a difference today, it serves as training for the student's career and ministry. TFC acts as the training ground for Christian service where aspiring leaders can learn in a safe environment, surrounded by those committed to their success. Through the activities listed below, every student has the opportunity to establish the needed foundation in Christ before experiencing the hostility of an unbelieving world.
Chapel
Chapel services are held Monday through Thursday mornings and provide the primary setting for corporate worship that builds our community in Christ while allowing the Spirit an opportunity to minister to the individual. Chapel messages are given by college administration, faculty, staff, local ministers, and nationally known pastors and teachers. Special series throughout the year include the Missionary Lecture Series, Spiritual Emphasis Week, Leadership Week, World Outreach Conference and the TFC Lecture Series.
Barnabas Groups
Barnabas Groups are faculty or staff led, student-mentoring groups that meet weekly to provide a meaningful level of accountability, support, and encouragement through close relationships in a small group setting.
Student Ministry
Student Ministry is organized as a practical extension of classroom learning. Each semester TFC students participate in over 7700 hours of ministry to the college, local, home, or international community.
Prayer Coordinators
Prayer coordinators are leaders selected by resident assistants on each floor who organize hall devotions, times for prayer and accountability in the dorm room setting.
ConXtion
ConXtion is TFC’s Sunday night service dedicated to student led worship and testimonies.
Student Missions Fellowship
SMF is a student organization that meets on Wednesday evening to promote missions work and to inform students how the Lord is working in other cultures.
Days of Prayer
Days of Prayer are held in conjunction with Spiritual Emphasis Week. These days are set aside each semester to allow for a time of renewal and refocusing on purpose of student’s training for Christian service. Students gather for prayer with the different offices on campus and in the local community.
Weekly Prayer and Fasting
Each week a member of the administration leads a time of fasting and prayer for those from the college community who would desire to join.
Class
Many professors choose to begin class by addressing the needs for prayer of individual students and those in the college community as well as the class time.
Drama Ministry
TFC’s student’s led drama ministry, called Impact, presents various dramatic presentations or skits designed to complement chapel messages. Impact also presents theatrical productions geared to minister to the non-believer.
Music Teams
Talented students at TFC use their abilities to impact people’s lives through music. From classical ensembles to contemporary worship groups, students are active in making music to minister to various groups of people on and off campus.
Cross-cultural/inner city Missions Trips
Each year, members of the student body use fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks to travel to cross-cultural or inner city setting to minister to people. Recent trips include Belgium, Chicago, France, Honduras, Ireland, Mongolia Philadelphia, Scotland, and Suriname.
Campus Church
Though students have many options for local church attendance and ministry, TFC facilitates Campus Community Church located in Grace Chapel. The campus church is active in community outreach through the Light Zone Youth Ministry and the Evangelism Team.
Urban Ministry
Each year, many students participate in urban ministry groups that meet the needs in urban areas such as soup kitchens, homeless shelters, crisis pregnancy centers and much more.
