The City of Toccoa

Toccoa, Georgia is located 90 miles northeast of Atlanta at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Toccoa Falls College campus contains 1,000 acres and a breathtaking 186-foot waterfall . While the thirty-six major buildings on campus comprise about 100 acres, students use the other 900 acres for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. In northeast Georgia, students have immediate access to lakes, rivers, caving, hiking, fishing, waterskiing, boating, river rafting, rappelling, golf, and camping.

The city of Toccoa offers a variety of choices for dining, entertainment, and employment for TFC students. Toccoa offers excellent location and climate, superior schools and medical facilities, and a strong economic base. In short, Toccoa is a great place to call home. The city of Toccoa has a population of 11,500 and Stephens County a population of 28,500. During the summer the average temperature is 76.5 degrees, with a high of 95 degrees. Winter low is 9 degrees with an average temperature of 52 degrees. Average rainfall is 58.9".

Toccoa has one local newspaper which is distributed two times per week, two radio stations and one TV station. The enlarged airport is called LeTourneau Field for small aircraft. The airport elevation is 1,109'. Toccoa is privileged to have a community theater, city symphony, arts festival, Fall Harvest Festival, music festivals, and a Taste of Toccoa. Conference centers include the Georgia Baptist Assembly, Camp Mikell, and Camp Toccoa (State Campfire Council).

The Atlanta metropolitan area, Georgia's most exciting area and home of the 1996 summer Olympics, is about an hour away from the college. Downtown Atlanta is 90 miles from TFC and the Atlanta airport is about 2 hours away. Atlanta offers a full range of cultural opportunities including entertainment of all kinds, restaurants, parks, professional athletics (Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, and Atlanta Thrashers), shopping, and various other historic charms of the state capital.
