Almost all international students at Toccoa Falls College enter the country with F-1 Student Visas. For students not entering the country with an F-1 Student Visa, documentation of current immigration status must be provided. Once a student has demonstrated adequate financial resources, been admitted to the college and submitted the required deposit, the US Immigration and Naturalization Service Form I-20 will be issued, which will enable the student to then apply for the F-1 Student Visa.

 

1. Confirmation of Financial Resources

All international student applicants must demonstrate the ability to finance their education at Toccoa Falls College. The United States Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) requires Toccoa Falls College to have documents certified by bank officials confirmation financial resources in the amount of $21,050 (USD) for each international student BEFORE issuing the Form I-20, which permits the student to apply for the F-1 Visa. The international student applicant must complete and submit the following in order for Toccoa Falls College to issue an I-20 immigration form.

* International Student Financial Certification Form

* Official bank statement(s) showing support in US funds for one academic year to the college.

Follow these instructions to complete the International Student Financial Certification Form.

* Students should complete the International Student Financial Certification Form indicating the source and amount of financial resources, which the student intends to use to fund their education.

* For each financial resource listed on the International Student Financial Certification Form (including personal resources, but excluding the Institutional Aid), a financial Sponsorship Page must be completed.

* The amount indicated on this form must be verified by the sponsor's bank. Satisfactory verification of financial support includes an official bank signature and bank  seal affixed to the Financial Sponsorship Page.

* Students are also required to submit supporting documentation such as an original signed letter from a bank official on bank stationery confirming the amount to be given, and an original or certified copy of a bank statement.

* Financial verification must specify a dollar amount and must indicate that the amount available is at least the cost of attendance for the academic school year 2006-2007 ($21,050 USD).

* All bank verification must be dated within one year of the student's intended date of enrollment.

 

2. Advanced Deposit

An advanced $200 (USD) Non-Refundable Deposit is required following notification of acceptance to the college. The college will send the Form 1-20 by express mail to the student's mailing address provided on the application once the college receives the deposit and financial verification.

 

3. Insurance

Toccoa Falls College requires that all international students secure adequate health insurance coverage prior to enrollment to minimize any financial hardship, should an unexpected accident or illness occur while a student at Toccoa Falls College.

*Students should purchase international student health insurance plan.
*Students must submit documentation to show proof of adequate insurance to the Office of Admissions once the annual plan has been purchased.

 

4. International Scholarship

We wish to recognize those international students who have demonstrated high academic achievement in their studies. Therefore, Toccoa Falls College offers an International Student Scholarship of $2,000 to $5,000 (USD) per year to assist international students with the cost of attendance. This scholarship will be awarded to qualified applicants upon acceptance to Toccoa Falls College and can be included on the International Student Financial Certification Form.

 

5. International Student Employment

Although Federal Law prohibits international students from working off-campus, Toccoa Falls College offers international students the opportunity to earn up to $3,000 per year for on-campus employment to assist in the cost of attendance. If work is available, international students may work up to 18 hours per week while classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week during breaks and summer. All students are responsible for securing their own work position on-campus and are paid directly by check.
