It is the responsibility of each student when ill, to visit the Student Health Services Center and fill out proper documentation if illness needs to be verified to professors.
Physician's appointments can be made for students whom the nurse has previously assessed as needing a physician's care. Toccoa Clinic works with Toccoa Falls College to accommodate the appointment needs of the students. Students are responsible for all medical expenses not covered by their insurance.
Don't hesitate to ask when you are in need of help. If you need medical attention after hours, contact your R.A. or R.D. They are aware of protocol of contacting the nurse during the "off" hours. The office must be notified of any visits made to the emergency room.
Toccoa Falls College Student Health Services provides the following services for students:
- First aid after injury
- Blood pressure checks
- Examination by nurse in case of illness or injury
- Promotion and wellness counseling
- Dispensing of nonprescription medications Free health pamphlets
- Coordination of Fall and Spring blood drives
- Physicians referral
- Annual wellness fair
Student Insurance
Each resident student is enrolled in basic insurance coverage under the college accident and sickness insurance plan. This coverage is secondary to any primary insurance coverage the student may have. The same insurance plan is available to non-resident students (6 credit hours or more) and their dependents at an established charge per year. This coverage is provided by Bollinger Insurance Company. The form is available at the Student Health Services Center.
