Our Counseling Center is staffed by two licensed counselors and our personal counseling services are available free of charge to all registered TFC students.

The Counseling Center offers a supportive environment in which students can mature as whole persons and become better equipped to handle college life.  The Counseling Center provides individual and group counseling, referral resources, and psycho-educational presentations, groups, and materials.

Counseling at Toccoa Falls College is available to any students who are experiencing academic or personal concerns.  Areas of concern may include, but are not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, marriage and family problems, identity issues, pornography, and alcohol and drug abuse.  Academic counseling is referred to the Director of the Center for Academic Support,  who can assist students experiencing difficulties in their course work, testing, and study skills.

The College Counselors are available to all students who are in crisis, through the Student Affairs Department. The safety of the students is paramount at all times, and the counselors are involved in ongoing assessment and intervention activities aimed at the safety and growth of the student body.  The counselors can handle most emotional crises, but make appropriate referrals when indicated.  All students can contact the Stephens County Mental Health emergency line at 800-347-5827. Students in crisis may be referred to a local physician or to the Stephens County Hospital for assessment and possible treatment.

The Counseling Center may offer support groups that focus on long term issues such as eating disorders and sexual trauma. These generally run for the duration of the semester. We also offer education groups for various groups on campus.  Educational groups are short term (one meeting to six weeks) and focus on issues such as self-worth, assertiveness training, stress management, or other topics as interest warrants.
