Women's Cross Country
Lady Eagles develop strong baseDuring their inaugural Cross Country season, The Toccoa Falls Women’s cross country team has developed a strong base for a solid athletic program. The Lady Eagles finished 3rd in the Oglethorpe Invitational, 2nd in the Paul Alford Invitational and Oglethorpe Alumni Invitational, and defeated 12 scholarship teams to finish 19th in the Georgia Collegiate Invitational. The Lady Eagles concluded their season with a 3rd place finished in the NCCAA Div II Invitational and 19th in overall competition.
The lady Eagles will be coached by third year cross country coach Joseph Young. Coach Young is a 2000 graduate of Toccoa Falls College in the school of Journalism and has twenty years of running experience and knowledge. He competed for four years for Palm Beach Lakes High School and three seasons for the Toccoa Falls Cross Country team.
In the 2006 season, the Lady Eagles will return six runners: Maggie Taylor, Erin Crandall, Layla Ledbetter, Anna Slifka, Dawn Hoffmeyer, and will add four competitive newcomers. The Lady Eagles are expected to improve upon last season’s 3rd place finish at Nationals.
