Men's Cross Country
During the 2006 season, The Toccoa Falls Men’s cross country team continued to establish a competitive athletic program. The Eagles regained their Paul Alford Invitational team title, and finished 2nd in the Pre- Great South Athletic Conference Championship and in the Kentucky Invitational. They placed in the top ten in the NGCSU (6th), Lander (5th), Lagrange (4th) and Erskine Invitational (7th); while defeating 13 scholarship teams to finish 17th in the Eye Opener Invitational. They concluded their season with a 4th place finished in the NCCAA Div II Invitational and 19th in NCCAA Div I Championship.
The
Eagles will be coached by fourth year cross country coach Joseph Young.
Coach Young is a 1995 graduate of Toccoa Falls College in the school of Journalism and has twenty years of running
experience and knowledge. He competed for four years for Palm Beach Lakes High School and three seasons for the Toccoa
Falls Cross Country team.
In the 2007 season, the Eagles will rebuild around three returning runners: Aaron
White and Corey Wade. The Eagles will also add six competitive newcomers. Aaron
White finished consistently in the top third of all invitational; while winning
the individual title in the Paul Alford invitational, the Pre- Great South Athletic Conference Championship and
earning all invitational honors at the NGCSU (12th), Lander (12th),
Lagrange (9th), Erskine (10th), Kentucky Christian (3rd)
and Nationals (6th). The
Eagles are expected to improve upon last season’s 4th place finish at
Nationals.
